About This Item
Published by the Royal Academy of Arts, London, in association with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Erica Hirschler examines the immense influence that Boston area artists of the 19th Century, such as Childe Hassam, John Singer Sargent, William Morris Hunt, Ernest Lee Major, Lila Cabot Perry, and Philip Hale, had in popularizing the Impressionist movement in the United States. Using the extensive collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Hirschler presents examples of their work as well as French masters from the collection, such as Degas, Monet, Millet, Renoir, Sisley, and several others.
