London: Religious Tract Society, 1915. Cloth. Very Good. 8" by 5.5". Not Stated. A first edition novel by Jessie Belll, illustrated with a frontispiece. Written under the pseudonym of her married name Mrs George de Horne Vaizey. Bell was also known as Jessie Mansergh. The author was known for using her own experiences in her books. She used situations in her early life in a large family, her own illnesses and her first husband's addictions and death. This work is undated. dated using Copac. In original pictorial cloth binding. Externally, smart with bumping to the extremities and to the head and tail of spine. Boards are slightly faded. Patches of light rubbing to the extremities and joints. Prior owner's inscription to the recto of front endpaper, Pamela Gillett. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Occasional spots to pages and foredge. Very Good
