Hand colored aquatint frontispiece by Stadler after Jackson, and five black and white engraved plates. Signed presentation copy on title page: "Presented by the author, Lt. Col and author, to F.W. Kalkbrenner, Esq., in testimony of his far superior skill in a far superior science." The recipient was a noted musician. SCHWERDT I, 234-245. Noting that this edition "reflects more fully the attractive personality of the author." Bound by Baynton (Riviere) Bath: raised bands, spine lettered in gilt, gilt border fillets, inner dentelles, marbled endpapers, Slight rubbing to joints and spine extremities.
