Interactive Science, Grade 5 Paperback - 2012

Interactive Science is a curriculum for homeschooling that keeps you and your child engaged. The curriculum material in Interactive Science: Grade 5 is broken down into those four units. Science is all about interacting with the subject being studied. Whether your child is exploring rocks or weather, you can be sure that Interactive Science: Grade 5 will help him or her do so actively.

With the helpful, dynamic and in-depth materials included in this curriculum, you'll be able to craft lessons that achieve Grade-level goals. By the time your child completes Grade 5, he or she should be able to:

• Describe matter that is too small to see (such as atoms) using models.
• Observe and describe a material using its properties.
• Explain how an animal derives energy from food, which comes from plants that get their energy from the sun.
• Describe how plants get their energy (i.e., photosynthesis).
• Understand the interactions between the Earth's geosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere and/or atmosphere.
• Find information regarding community efforts to protect the environment and its resources.
• Understand the basic nature of gravity and that matter falls toward the center of the Earth.
• Comprehend that the sun's brightness correlates to its distance from Earth.

You can achieve these and other goals in your child's learning by using the easy-to-understand materials included in Interactive Science: Grade 5. The student workbook is full of fun activity ideas sure to get your student thrilled about Science. You'll be able to use the teacher guide to form thought-provoking lessons.
