New York: GP Putnam's Sons, 1920. First edition. 8vo, 240 pp. including 82 illustrations from photographs. Publisher's gilt-lettered blue cloth with a mounted half tone illustration depicting a golfer who has just completed his swing on the upper cover. Donovan & Murdoch/ Game of Golf & the Printed Word, 15530.
Binding lightly rubbed & soiled, upper cover a bit splayed, faint stain briefly affecting the upper margin (diminishing through p. 45), occasional minor foxing, previous owner's name in pencil at ffep, good or better.
As co-author Elon Jessup, then associate editor of Outing magazine, writes in the Foreword: "There may be golfers who can make a better score on the links than John Duncan Dunn, but I am thoroughly convinced that there is not a living man who knows more about golf and how to teach it."
