Written while serving a six-month prison sentence for an article he wrote alleging American troops were to be employed in Britain as strike-breakers, Russell's popular introduction to the system of Principia Mathematica was first delivered as a set of public lectures in autumn 1917, before publication in book form. Octavo. Original orange cloth, spine lettered in gilt. Spine dulled, trivial bumps at extremities, first few leaves a little creased, a very good copy. Blackwell & Ruja A30.1a.
