Three smart volumes of an Inventory on the Historical Monuments in Cambridge, richly illustrated and with four large folding maps. A two volume inventory with a map box of four large folding maps. A first edition copy of this ambitious inventory on the Historical Monuments in the city of Cambridge as prepared by the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments. The volumes include Prehistoric and Roman remains, University and College buildings, Churches, publics works and large and small houses dating before 1850. With 197 plates in the first volume, seven folding maps and a folding colour plate. Plates 198-310 in the second volume and six folding maps. With four large folding maps inside the separate map folder. Collated, complete. All three volumes are in the original unclipped dust wrappers. In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart. Some marks to the boards and a mark to the tail of the spine of volume one. Frony hinge of vol. two starting but remains firm. Internally, firmly bound with bright pages with some light scattered spots to the first and last few pages of both volumes. In the original unclipped dust wrappers which are faded to the spines with some marks to the wraps. The folding maps are generally bright and clean. Very Good
