J.M.Dent & Sons 1956 1st thus.. 8.75 x 5.5 inches. In grey cloth covers with gilt to spine and gilt bird to front. With illustrated dustwrapper. In very good condition with very good dustwrapper (dw; Spine and front slightly darkened. Handling marks to back. Not price clipped). Slight browning to endpapers. Else a clean and tight copy. 129 pp. With b/w frontispiece and b/w wood-engravings by the author. The fascinating story of John Graham, transported to Botany Bay in 1824. He escaped and lived with the Aboriginies for six years before returning and later helping in the rescue of survivors of a shipwreck who were held by the Aboriginies. Some of the account is taken from John Graham’s own writing and some from official papers.
