The first edition of this detailed study of naturalist and botanist Joseph Banks's 1766 expedition to Labrador, drawing information and illustrations from his own diaries and sketches. Illustrated with twelve colour plates, and eight facsimile plates, two of which are folding, alongside further vignette illustrations and black and white plates. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original dust wrapper, price clipped.The first edition of this work from New Zealand biologist, science historian and artist Averil Margaret Lysaght, who presents excerpts from Banks's Labrador diary, manuscripts and collections, alongside offering a biographical account of his life.
