Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 1958 First edition, first impression. Size octavo, 209 pages including index. Burgundy cloth covered boards with gilt titles to the spine, photographic end-papers and paste-downs. Light blue titled dust jacket. Book condition very good, corners and spine ends rubbed, front end-paper rubbed, a few spots to page edges else contents very clean throughout. Dust jacket condition good, spotting to panels, spine and edges of panels sunned, not price clipped. This copy was Biographer and Critic Malcolm Elwin's (1903-1973) Review copy. tipped on to the half title is the slip from the publisher requesting the review. Loosely inserted is a 3 sheet carbon copy of Elwin's Review, the slip from The Telegraph asking Elwin for the Review, A newspaper cutting of Elwin's final printed review and another copy of his review from a magazine that I cannot see the name of.
