With marginal notes from a contemporary copy annotated by Hester Lynch Thrale Piozzi. Title page printed in two colors. Illustrated with Rowlandson's amusing depictions of 18th. C. life. Endpaper maps. Bound in three-quarter red top grain cowhide stamped in gilt, over marbled boards. TEG. Book with original glassine dust jacket. Housed in the publisher's slipcase, design matching the cover of the book and featuring a printed paper title label on the spine. Number 934 of an edition limited to 2,000 copies. With a bookplate on the half-title page, otherwise Fine in a Fine slipcase. With the LEC Monthly Newsletter laid-in. Text reprints that of the third edition, 1786, using Rowlandson's prints from Picturesque Beauties of Boswell, also published 1786. Printed at the Sign of the Stone Book in Bloomfield, Connecticut. A superb, fresh copy with the bookplate being the only detracting quality.
