Novel by Octave Feuillet, a French novelist and dramatist writing between romanticism and realism. His most popular work is his 1858 novel 'Le Roman d'un jeune homme pauvre' (The Story of a Poor Young Man) which has been adapted for film many times by Italian, French, and Argentinian directors. With illustrations by Marchetti, engraved by J Huyot. Ex libris with bookplate to front pastedown, from the library of 'Alfred et Blanche de Curzon.' Rebound in quarter morocco binding over paper covered boards, five raised bands, gilt lettering to spine. Externally with rubbing to spine and extremities of boards and spine. Previous ownership ink inscription to half title dated 1913. Internally, firmly bound. Odd light minor spotting to occasional leaf; pages otherwise generally very clean throughout. Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
