The jacket, without the Caldecott Medal sticker and a price of $9.95, is the first issue. A film starring Robin Williams was released in 1995. Oblong quarto. Original green cloth, spine and front cover lettered in copper gilt, beige endpapers. With dust jacket. Greyscale illustrations throughout by the author. Extremities slightly sunned, some light foxing, occasional cockling; extremities of jacket slightly worn, some minor damp staining and light foxing to reverse, unclipped; a very good copy in a very good jacket.
Synopsis
Jumanji is the title of a 1981 children's illustrated short story written and illustrated by the American author Chris Van Allsburg. It was made into a 1995 film of the same name. Both the book and the movie are about a magical board game that implements real animals and other jungle elements as the players are playing the game. The troubles which the players have to overcome appear in real life, not only in the board game.
