New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1930. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/Near fine. Thick 4to. xv,(1),298pp. Blue cloth blocked in gilt on the spine and upper board. Top edge gilt. Photographic endpapers. All illustrations and the two maps present. Photographs mostly by the author. Color plates and drawings by Walter A. Weber, A fine copy. The dustwrapper is not clipped and shows a light stain on the rear and only minimal wear; it give a near fine appearance. Not generally seen in such nice condition.
This is the official record of the Field Museum's Crane Pacific Expedition for the study of terrestrial and marine life on the central Paficic islands and New Guinea. The Scientific Appendix is by Karl Patterson Schmidt.
