With nearly 100 photographs selected by the artist and provided with very interesting and personal captions. 4to, publisher's original bright blue cloth lettered in blind on the upper cover and on the spine in yellow-silver, in the original dustjacket with photograph to the upper cover. 120 pp. A very fine copy, essentially as pristine. FIRST OF THE VERY FINE ABBEVILLE PRESS EDITION TO COMMEMORATE THE ARTIST'S RETROSPECTIVE. "This combination of revealing, often charming text and sparkling duotone reproductions forms a unique, 120-page self-portrait of the man and artist." Selected photos first come from the artist early days in Hungary, then from the French Period and finally from the New York photographs. In all over 60 years of his career are represented here.
