Throughout the book there are numerous black-and-white photographs taken by Man Ray and reproductions of artwork by Kiki herself and other artists. 1/4 red coloured cloth covered back strip with gilt coloured titles. 3/4 mustard coloured boards. Photographic dustwrapper with white and yellow coloured titles to the front panel and white coloured titles to the back strip. Born in 1901 and given name Alice Prin lived in abject poverty with her grandmother until she was shipped to Paris at the age of 12 to live with her mother, at that time unknown to her. She reinvented herself as Kiki and became the muse of artists, photographers – especially Man Ray and other intellectuals of the day.
