This is a stated first printing (1988) of The King of the Fields, a novel by Isaac Bashevis Singer (1903-1991), the Polish-American writer who is one of 13 American citizens to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. Singer wrote in Yiddish and had his work translated, usually by Saul Bellow.
