Random House, 1939. Glossy blue hardcover pictorial binding same as blue background dustjacket showing the king on his stilts. Wear to dustjacket - some scraps, chips and remains of sticker over the 'lt' in Stilts. Not price clipped- 295/295 price intact. Protected from further damage in clean Brodart jacket. Hardcover binding is square and tight - some damage on spine over the word 'King's'. Small stamp of letter 'H' on ffep, else interior is clean and tight with good hinges. Reprinted sometime 1963/64 - latest titles listed on dj flap and inside book are Hop On Pop and Dr. Seuss's ABC Book, both published in 1963. Fox In Sox, published in 1965, is not listed. Unpaginated. Overall a nice copy of an early edition of this title in dustjacket.. Illus. by Seuss. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Hardcover. Good+/Good.

Theodor Seuss Geisel-aka Dr. Seuss-is, quite simply, one of the most beloved children's book authors of all time.
