About This Item
London: A.H. Bullen, 1904. Yeats wrote these short plays for the Irish National Theatre and they were performed in 1903 and 1904. He states that "Both are founded on Old Irish Prose Romances" but Quercus notes how they also resemble Japanese Kabuki. "On Baile's Strand" is also one of the most bleak of Yeats dramas. Gray/green paper-covered boards with a green cloth spine with paper label. Clean text; 117 pages. Corners are bumped and the spine label has a chip (not affecting title). A bit grubby in appearance due to moderate amount of soiling, but a sold copy nontheless.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good (Minus)/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
