About This Item
New York: Frederick A. Stokes Company, 1904. Book. Fine. Hardcover. F. First Edition. Octavo, pink cloth covere boards with gilt decoration and black and white pictorial inset on cover. 206pp. including index. Generously illustrated throughout with 58 full page black and white plates of reproductions of lace patterns and historical records of lace in old portraits. An important work surveying the history and development of lace in Europe, including sections on French, Spanish, Italian, English, Irish and Flemish lace. A tight, internally clean copy with slightly darkened spine and some signs of minor soil and stain at a couple of places on boards. Overall a very attractive copy of this classic. Very good plus..
