Bergamo: Mazzoleni, 1825. Half Morocco. Marbled boards. Custom slipcase. . Very Good. Folio, 31 by 23 cm. 328 pp. Aquatint portrait, 62 hand-colored plates. Lipperheide Be 29. This book is in a larger format than the French original of 1796. This is tantamount to a large paper edition of the original. Custom slipcase with morocco trim, patterned paper pastedown. Modern half red morocco binding. Condition: slip case with some separation of a few edges. Repair to joints. Some foxing on paper, but overall, remarkably clean given the paper stock used at the time in Italy. One long closed tear repaired, and a few shorter tear repairs.
