London: A.R.Mowbray, c.1909 Presumed First edition, undated but has original owner's name and date of Oct. 1909 on each flyleaf. Four volumes, complete, each one covering three months of the year. Hardcover books. Each book has brown cloth spines lettered in gilt, and grey paper-covered boards lettered and elaborately decorated in brown printed religious and floral motifs to front covers. Each 16 x 10 cm. Each month is paginated separately and has its own title page eg. Volume I has 63pp, 59pp and 63pp for January to March. Each saint has a life history, followed by his religious and moral example, and a Collect. A Good+ set. Pages very good, clean and well-bound, with a few brown spots to fore-edges and browning to endpapers. Covers have bright gilt but are rubbed to the edges and spines, with light browning to the front covers; Vol. 3 has the front cover paper torn and scuffed with loss. As well as original owner's name and date, Vol. 1 has 1929 and 1947 owners' names to flyleaf, giving a nice history of devotional usage (one has a church name). Pictures available
