New York: Random House, 1949. First Edition. Signed presentation copy inscribed by the author in German to opera singer Lotte Lehmann: “To Lotte Lehmann - glucklich allein ist die seele die liebt. Vincent Sheean. Apr June 17, 1949.” Very good with light foxing to the edges and endpapers and minor shelf wear in a torn and faded dust jacket.
