Page became American ambassador to the Court of St. James, via correspondence between himself and Woodrow Wilson (with President Wilson's last instruction to his ambassador was "Go,'' said Mr Wilson, "and be yourself!" "  from page 20), List of illustrations and index. Black-and-white photographic frontispiece, of Walter H. Page. The text is illustrated with 12 black-and-white photographs. Red coloured cloth coloured boards with self embossed titles to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the back stop Walter H. Page was the American ambassador to the Court of St. James from 1913 to 1918. This book is a small biography of the man, but, more importantly this book is the reproductions of his letters to his President  Woodrow Wilson, covering the complete war years of World War I. The book was a complimentary gift from the publisher to original owner, to the top edge of the free front end page, and there is another complimentary inscription and stamp, from Angus & Robertson Ltd.'s resident agent for Victoria to 'C. T. Scarff Esq.', to the lower edge of the same page  please see photograph. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges and rubbing of the book corners and lower book edges. Some flecking of the book panels and fading and marking of the back strip. Light uniform tanning and scattered foxing to the text block edges. Foxing to the endpages with age toning and scattered foxing of the pages. This is the first Australian edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [9], 2 - 456, [2] pages,.
