London: John Murray, 1835. Cloth. Good Only. 7" by 4.5". Various. An early nineteenth century John Murray's edition of Boswell's Life of Johnson. Complete in Ten Volumes. Volumes IX and X are the two volumes of Johnsoniana. With additional engraved title page and frontispiece in each volume. To which are added anecdotes by Hawkins, Piozzi, Murphy, Tyers, Reynolds, Steevens, &c. and Notes by Various Hands. There are Robinsons bookseller's label to the front pastedown. Some pages are unopened. In full cloth binding, with gilt detailing. Externally, worn. Rubbing to the head and tail of the spines, resulting in loss to the head of volume VII. Slight sunning to the spines. Rubbing also to the boards and to the extremities. Marks to the front and rear boards of each volume. Institutional labels from Queen Mary College to the front pastedowns and free-endpapers. Splits to the joints to many of the volumes. Hinges are strained but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound, although becoming loose in places. Pages are generally bright and clean with the occasional spot. The odd stamp throughout each volume, reading 'Queen Mary College' and 'withdrawn'. Good Only
