About This Item

London: Published by William Pickering, 1828. Leather Bound. Very Good. Atlas Folio - over 23 - 25" tall. Octavo. lxiv, 376 pages. Hardcover bound in later full green crushed polished morocco gilt by Worsfold. Raised bands on the spine. Leather turn-ins and stamped by Worsfold at the bottom of the front pastedown. Light rubbing and wear to the binding. The spine is faded to brown, and there is uneven fading to the green, especially at the top of the front cover. Top edge gilt. Contains a portrait frontis of Thomas More and a pictorial design on the title page, but this work was published with no other illustrations (the "Other Illustrations" from the title page refers to literary illustrations and not pictorial images). Lettering on the title page is in red and black. The text is a little toned but is still clean. An attractive copy.
