About This Item

London: Collins, 1953. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good Indeed. 8" by 5". None. The first edition of this sinister fiction novel about a father and son, written by John Mortimer and in the publishers original dust wrapper. The first edition. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. This fiction novel was written by Sir John Clifford Mortimer, a British screenwriter and author, best known for his 'Horace Rumpole' short stories and its TV adaptation, also written by Mortimer. This novel tells the story of a father and son with an awkward relationship that gets more strained as the father, Christopher Kennet, enters his son's dark and sinister world. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally excellent with only slight fading to the spine and rear joint and a slight lean. Minimal offsetting to the endpapers. The wrap is very smart with sunning to the spine and rear, handling marks and small closed tears to the head of the spine. Spotting to the verso. Internally firmly bound with generally bright and clean pages with the odd spot. Near Fine
