About This Item
Small octavo (7 3/4 X 5 1/2 inches) Chicago: The Black Cat Press, 1936. First Edition 98 pages, one of 140 copies printed, original hardcover, cloth in very good condition.
"There is probably no aspect of Abraham Lincoln's life over which so much ink has been spilled as his religious belief."
Herndon was Lincoln's former law partner. His remarks, taken from a lecture, first appeared in print in a very rare broadside, and then in another rarity published in 1915, before appearing in this book.
