About This Item

Upper Room. New. 2009. Softcover. 0835899853 . 128 pages including Bibliographical References. This is a NEW book from the Hartford Seminary Bookstore; 0.4 x 9.2 x 7.1 Inches; Is your church listening and paying attention to God's leading? Making faith-based decisions is a sign of Christian maturity - both individually and corporately. With so many voices and opinions within a congregation or organization, it may seem an insurmountable challenge for church leaders to settle on a direction. If you're dissatisfied with asset-evaluation or strategic planning techniques and are ready for change, learn how to listen for God's voice as you ponder...
* Who is God calling you to become as a community of faith?
* Where is Christ's presence active among you?
* Where is the Holy Spirit leading?
"The movement of the Holy Spirit is often unseen but felt like the wind," write the authors. "Just as the wind moves hot air balloons, so the Holy Spirit can influence the process of movement in the church. We, like hot air balloons, can sail with the wind into a God-breathed future. If you're ready for the transformative possibilities, this workbook will provide direction and encouragement for the journey." Isenhower and Todd believe discernment doesn't have to be stressful and exhausting but refreshing. They model a dynamic and positive technique that's full of prayer and worship, discussion and interaction. It's an opportunity for living in God's presence more deeply. Learn how your church can be more available to God through the "dynamic dance" that can be corporate decisionmaking. .

About Frenchboro Books

We handle books from academic libraries (from institutions and scholars), both deaccessions and gift books from alumni, and from closed Seminary Bookstores. Our original location was on a remote island in Maine, the Island of Frenchboro, and thus the origin of our name. For a time we operated a brick and mortar store in Bangor four days a week, and then moved that to the Antique Marketplace on Main Street in Bangor, which still caries some of our stock. The major stock of our business is now housed in Louisville, Colorado. Our listings can include a wide range of material, but the majority are non-fiction, scholarly works.
