Illustrated with 12 original, full-page, full-color lithographs by Chagall (including the frontispiece and jacket), and 186 magnificent reproductions of color and B&W lithographs. This is the first and most desirable of the six volumes of the Catalogue Raisonne of Chagall's lithographs, published between 1960 and 1986. All 12 of the original lithographs are present and in excellent condition, as are all of the reproduced lithographs. The original lithographs included are: Offering; Our House in My Village; Profile and Red Child; Couple in Front of Tree; Lovers with Red Sun; Angel Bay; Vision of Paris; The Angel; The Circus; Woman Juggler; the Cover (Man and Woman with Flowers), and Frontispiece (Circus). Preface by Julien Cain; introduction by Chagall himself; and notes and catalogue by Fernand Mourlot. . The volume is in virtually perfect, pristine condition, unmarked, tight, square, and clean. The dust jacket, still in its original Mylar, is very slightly worn at the head and heel of the spine, only, else fine. All of the lithographs are present and in excellent condition.
