Light corner wear and bookplate on front end paper, else a bright, unmarked copy. Priced ($2.50) jacket is lightly scuffed at points with some tiny edge chips. Illustrated by Leonard Weisgard -- 1947 Caldecott winner with No medal on jacket. NOTE: This is NOT the Junior Literary Guild book club reprint which also contains the ""First Edition"" statement. First issue points are: Binding: Black cloth backed pictorial boards; flap price=$2.50, First Edition statement and NO mention of Junior Literary Guild on title page.
