Illustrated with a frontispiece and eleven plates. Collated complete. Written by Evelyn Waugh, an English writer of novels, biographies and travel books, recognised as one of the great prose stylists of the English language in the 20th century. He was also a prolific journalist and book reviewer. Best remembered for his satires Decline and Fall (1928) and A Handful of Dust (1934), and the Second World War trilogy Sword of Honour (1952-1961). In the original grey cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear only. Original unclipped dust wrapper also very smart with minor chipping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Near Fine
