Nicely illustrated vintage copy of "LITTLE MEN - Life at Plumfield with Jo's Boys" by Louisa May Alcott. Published in 1928 by The John C. Winston Company. This edition features four full-page color plates and 10 black & white illustrations by Clara M. Burd. The end papers have an illustration of "The Alcott Home - Concord, Mass." in blue.
Condition:
Clean covers; there are a few tiny white specks on the spine. Sharp cover corners. Light fraying to the cloth at the top edge of the spine. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Some light foxing to the front end papers and title page. There are a couple light stains at the inner edge of page 18 & 19. Light staining/foxing(?) on pages 272 & 273. Page 129 has a 3/4" tear at the top edge. Light musty odor. The upper-outer corner of pages 24-28 are creased. Overall the book is in Very Good condition.
Synopsis
Little Men, or Life at Plumfield with Jo's Boys is a novel by American author Louisa May Alcott, first published in 1871. The novel reprises characters from Little Women and is considered by some the second book of an unofficial Little Women trilogy, which is completed with Alcott's 1886 novel Jo's Boys, and How They Turned Out: A Sequel to "Little Men". Little Men tells the story of Jo Bhaer and the children at Plumfield Estate School.
