A later printing of the 1900 Second Edition, title page dated 1901, finely bound in contemporary crushed brown morocco, unsigned and thus likely an American bookbinder, covers and spine ruled in gilt, five raised bands,top edge gilt, marbled end pages, ribbon marker. Tiny rubs at corners else Fine, a quite handsome copy in fine binding and with the frontispiece and 43 illustrations tipped in, and 22 illustrations on text leaves, all by Joseph Pennell. . Second Edition. Crushed Morocco. Near Fine/No Jacket, As Issued. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Synopsis

A Little Tour in France is a book of travel writing by Henry James. Originally published under the title En Province in 1883–1884 as a serial in The Atlantic Monthly, the book recounts a six-week tour James made of many provincial towns in France, including Tours, Bourges, Nantes, Toulouse, Arles and several others. The first book publication was in 1884. A second, extensively revised edition was published in 1900.
