About This Item
Kerouac was at the peak of his fame when this collection of published and unpublished pieces was published. He describes the contents in his inimitable way in the introduction: "Railroad work, sea work, mysticism, mountain work, lasciviousness, solepsism, self-indultence, bullfights, drugs, churches, art museums, streets of cities, a mishmosh of life as lived by an independent educated penniless rake going anywhere."
Drawings by Larry Rivers are interspersed with Kerouac's writings.
This copy is in good condition overall. The dust jacket has some small nicks and tears, otherwise fully intact.
Synopsis
Lonesome Traveler is a 1960 novel by American novelist and poet Jack Kerouac. It is a compilation of Kerouac's journal entries about traveling the United States, Mexico, Morocco, the United Kingdom and France, and covers similar issues to his previous novels, such as relationships, various jobs, and the nature of his life on the road. The novel includes some of Kerouac's best writing in his spontaneous prose style.
