A very scarce first edition copy of this work by Phyllis Walsh collection of essays on the life and work of Lorine Niedecker. Very scarce. A series of essays on the poetical talents of Lorine Niedecker, aiming to introduce her work to students and academics alike. The essays featured in this volume are titled as follows: 'Explorations: Poetry of Lorine Niedecker'; 'Lorine Niedecker: A Feminine Sensibility'; 'Why Should We Hurry Home: Niedecker's Earth Ethic'; 'Niedecker's Last Years'. Lorine Niedecker was part of the Objectivist poetry movement of the early 20th century. After a 15 year absence from poetry in in the 1940s, Niedecker's work saw a revival in the 60s which encouraged her to continue writing. This scarce work is bound in the publisher's original binding, and is in excellent condition. In the publisher's original binding. Externally smart, with minor shelfwear.
