John Pentland Mahaffy (1839 Š 1919) Professor of Ancient History and later Provost of Trinity College Dublin, was the influential tutor of Oscar Wilde. Henry Arthur Bright (1830 Š 1884) was an English merchant, antiquarian, renowned book collector, poet, writer on gardening, critic and publisher. Lower cover very slightly marked. VG.
