Dust jacket has light chipping to head of spine and top edge of front panel; rear panel is creased; not price clipped ($2.50); in a clear archival sleeve. 313, [1] pages. 7.4 x 5.2 inches. 1939 Nobel Prize winning novel by Finnish author Frans Sillanpaa (1888-1964), awarded ''for his deep understanding of his country's peasantry and the exquisite art with which he has portrayed their way of life and their relationship with Nature.'' First published in Finland in 1931 with the title Nuorena nukkunut.
