Illustrated with sixteen photographic plates.This very scarce work presents a fascinating portrait of life in 1950s Afghanistan, discussing 'the average Afghan house-wife', nomadic life, hospitality, folklore, typical Afgan names, and 'the lovers of Dilaram'.The author also published works titled 'Progressive Afghanistan', 'Commercial Afghanistan', and 'Afganistan - An Historical Sketch'. In the publisher's original paper wraps. Wraps age toned, with small tide mark to head of front wrap, and closed tear to back strip tail. Internally, firmly bound. Title page significantly age toned, with pages otherwise clean and bright. Very Good
