Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is sound. Gilt-stamped and illustrated gray cloth over boards, pp. (x), 11-352, plus a 32-page catalogue of books published by Scribner & Welford's, lacks one illustration: "Marion Covers the Native with her Rifle", all other plates are present.
