xvii+684 pages with index. Thick royal octavo (9 1/2" x 6 3/4") bound in original publisher's quarter black cloth with red and gilt lettering to spine over red boards in original pictorial jacket. Book club edition. This is the story of what political life was like in America from the time of the 1976 campaigning first began - for the Democrats late in 1972 and for the Republicans within months of Nixon's fall in 1974. Condition: Spine ends gently rubbed, page ends soiled. Jacket corners chipped, spine ends chipped with tears, edge wear, fold over edges rubbed else a very good copy in a good jacket.
