About This Item
A departure from the usual railway title for Noodle Books, this new book is a joint venture with the Medway Queen Preservation Society. The story of the famous paddle steamer is told from its construction as a pleasure vessel through wartime service as a minesweeper, as well a rescue vessel during the Dunkirk evacuation, through to 'demobilisation' and a return to peacetime activities. A series of fascinating images depict this 'little ship' at work and play, as well as during construction, the working mechanics of the ship and the long trawl from withdrawal from public service through to purchase and eventual restoration.
