NO fading. Spine ends and hinges rubbed. SEE PHOTOS. Top edges gilt. NO owner's name or bookplate. Light foxing to only a few pages. Illustrated with numerous plates/portraits. Tissue-guarded frontispiece portrait in each volume. Marbled endpapers. Six volumes, complete: I) Gossip and Glory of Versailles, 1691-1701; II) The Silver Age of Louise XIV. 1702-1707; III) When Madame de Maintenon was Queen, 1707-1710; IV) War and Court Gossip, 1710-1714; V) The Passing of Louis XIV, 1714-1717; VI) An Infamous Regent's Rule, 1717-1723.
