NY: D. Appleton and Company, 1880. First US Edition . Hardcover. Three volumes, originally bound in red leather over marbled boards, with the spine and corners professionally replaced with red buckram. Books are now tightly bound with white endpapers and marbled page edges. Volume I has the title page partially detached, and pages in all three volumes are a little browned. With a Preface and Notes by the author's grandson, Paul de Remusat. Translated from the French by Mrs. Cashel Hoey and John Lillie.
