Of particular interest is the Report of the Secretary of War, which while providing an overview of frontier military activity, provides a detailed focus on the reports from officers in the field regarding "Military and Indian Affairs in Texas, New Mexico, California, Oregon, and Florida", all of which were dealing with various degrees of conflict with local Indian tribes. Tanning and occassional light foxing throughout. Map has 3.5" closed tear and some splitting at corner fold. Chipping to cloth on corners and spine ends. Good-very good.
