Washington [D.C.]: Printed by William A. Davis, 1817. First edition. Removed. Very good, faint dampstain to bottom edge, War Department stamp to title.. 3 pp. 8vo. This report refers to two separate orders issued in 1815, by both Great Britain (in August)and the United States, discontinuing discriminating duties. As there was a period of several months before the United States issued the reciprocal order, Madison recommends, "the expediency of paying to the British government the amount of the duties remitted during the period in question to citizens of the United States." American Imprints 42664.
