About This Item
London: Hutchinson & Co., c1897. Cloth. Very Good. 8" by 5.5". Not Stated. An early edition of this theological and philosophical novel written by English novelist Marie Corelli. A compelling novel about a young boy in Devon who contemplates the theological, spiritual, and philosophical origins of the human soul. An early edition of this work, with 'ninety-seventh thousand' to the title page. Written by nineteenth and twentieth century English novelist Marie Corelli, born Mary Mackay. Corelli's novels focused on theological, spiritual, and mystic themes, and often grappled with the concept of humanity. Containing twelve pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. In the publisher's original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with just some light shelf wear and light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, front hinge is slightly strained at the head. Remaining binding is firm. A mark to the title page, and some age-toning to the endpapers, otherwise pages are bright and clean throughout. Very Good
