About This Item
Paris: Ch. Massin & Cie, 1928. Loose_leaf. Very Good. 12, [4] p.: 40 leaves of photographs; 34 cm. Portfolio has red cloth spine and corners, with red ribbon ties; printed in red and black. The text and leaves of plates are loose in the portfolio, as issued. Text is entirely in French. The plates are numbered and indicate that they were produced by Léon Marotte by the heliotype, or collotype process, which produces both beautiful and extremely detailed images. Part of a series of works on antique French furniture, Collection de L'Art Régional en France. This volume focuses on furniture of the region of Lorraine. Volumes printed prior to this were dated 1925-1927, indicating that this undated volume may have been produced the following year. In Very Good Condition: front cover is darkened along edges; edges of spine are rubbed and cloth is partially separated along both joints; plates are clean and bright. A scarce copy of an important work on French regional furniture.
