The scarce second edition of this work, which was first published the year prior.During his employment as a reporter for the Morning Chronicle, Mudie reported on King George IV's visit to Edinburgh, a trip he also describes in this volume. He describes the preparations undertaken for the arrival of the King, the political state of Scotland, Blackwood's Magazine, the state of the Scottish press, and other information on Scottish life in the period. In a full calf binding. Rubbing to back strip head and tail and joints, with small loss of leather to spine head. Small loss of leather to perimeters of spine label. Hinges strained, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting to title page, with pages otherwise generally clean and bright. Good
