About This Item
First edition hardcover, published by A.L. Burt, 1911. No dust jacket. Edwardian era 'Regency' style romance novel about Sylvia Marchmont, who travels to Europe and sends word home to here friends of her unexpected marriage to the Duke of Ryde. 330 pages, 5-1/4" X 7-1/2". Also includes an interesting section at the back listing additional books of the time from A.L. Burt. Red cloth covered boards, with a wonderful vintage design on the front cover board of a moon with the title within. Cover design, and spine lettering, has some light rubbing, but is still entirely legible. One blue pen ink mark on the front paste down - a single line of about 3". Edges of the text block have some dots of age tanning, which would appear to be an appropriate amount considering the type of paper stock used at the time. There is an abrasion mark on the top edge - looks like a name that was rubbed out. Not a library discard. Binding is tight and square. Attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.

Let us know, we'd love to hear from you! Do you want to see a photo of a book before you order it ? We try to post as many photos as possbiel, but sometimes there will be a item in inventory that does not show a photo here. So feel free to ask for photos, we don't mind at all. We package all of our orders carefully either in a box that has been designed to ship books, or in a padded envelope. We want to make sure you receive your order in the best possible condition! Our preferred shipping method is USPS Media Mail. Recently, the USPS has added tracking to Media Mail , which has been a great addition to this service. If you do choose to have your order shipped "Expedited", my shipping cost may seem higher than expected. Some of our books are large format hardcovers that can cost quite a bit when shipped expedited. So I would like to make sure that I can cover the cost upfront. However, if the actual cost of expedited shipping is less than the charge, I will refund the difference!
